Anti-plasmodial potential of selected medicinal plants and a compound Atropine isolated from <i>Eucalyptus obliqua</i>

Abstract The present research study was aimed to investigate the efficiency of selected medicinal plants against Plasmodium vivax. Crude methanolic extracts from seeds leaves Datura stramonium , Parthenium hysterophorus Calotropis procera and Dodonaea viscosa were prepared. In addition, Atropine also isolated alkaloid components Eucalyptus obliqua evaluate their in vitro anti-plasmodial effects. It observed that proguanil (positive control) displayed strong activity (94.04 68.02%, respectively) P. vivax at 0.1 mg/mL concentration while leaf other did not exhibit any notable activity. concluded alkaloids E. plant’s rich compound Atropine, which a remarkable . Anti-plasmodial action are attributed these phytochemicals. studies using standardized methods will help make more powerful cost-effective compounds.
